Glaciation

Well as we are just about to start the lithosphere section of the work some photos for you to see from our summer geography teacher's visit to Iceland. ( Wonderful place if you get the chance to go !).

Some glaciation revision - think about how glaciers form. Go over in your head the inputs, processes and outputs of a glacial system.Can you repeat our famous 12 points re the formation of a corrie ? Kung fu glaciation might help - get active ! Can you draw diagrams to explain the formation of 3 erosive and 3 depositional features ?

On the third picture look for the people to give you an idea of scale - some glaciers are HUGE !

Fieldwork

Well done on your enthusiasm and good fieldwork skills. I hope you enjoyed the weekend, although it was hard work. A few photos for you to see - the rest I will show you in class later.

Welcome to Higher Geography

Hello everyone,

Welcome to a new school year and the excitement of Higher Geography - it is a great course and although hard work we are sure you will enjoy it and learn a lot. Fieldwork next weekend is good fun. Hope you like the picture I took in Iceland this summer - there are 400 others to see !

Keep calm

I won't be able to post tomorrow evening so this is to enourage you to keep calm, read everything really carefully and include examples throughout. Have faith in your abilities - I do !

Busy weekend ?

Thought you might like a coastal photo from IIS fieldwork this week.

Hope you all have your revision planned for the next few days - at least the grey weather helps ! Make sure you have everything you need for the exam all sorted out the night before - spare pens and SHARP pencil at the ready !

READ the questions very carefully. Watch your time.

Paper 1 - 1 hour 30 mins just over 15 mins for Question 1 - 4 and just under 15 mins for 5 OR 6, 7 OR 8 .

Paper 2 - 1 hour 15 mins Question 1 & 6 ONLY c 35 mins per question.

EC noticed on the front of the 2008 paper it said to write out the numbers of the questions you have answered on the grid on the back of the answer book. I had not noticed it so well done E .
